Australian football in Turku
Turku's very own aussie footy team, The Dockers, started in late 2008, when Grant Siermans and Craig Primmer, who had previously played in the Finland Icebreakers, decided to found a team in Turku. The team got off to a flying start, and in August 2009, Turku Dockers won the first ever grand final in the Finland AFL.
Training
Turku Dockers train once a week during the winter, and twice a week during the summer season. Most of the Finnish national league games will be played during the summer months, so the sport is perfect for anyone who wants to play competitive sports in the summertime.
Turku Dockers starts its pre-season training on February 11th. We'll start our preparation for the new season with indoor practice sessions, which will be held on Thursdays 18:15-19:30 at the Normaalikoulu school gym (entrance through door D).
